Results of 12/12/99 dig The three part mold hole House built in 1850
I want to start out by saying that this will not be the only dig for this house. Me and Rick showed up at the house at 8:00 Sunday morning to get an early start and it's a good thing that we did. Most pits that we have dug have been four or five feet deep. This dig would bring a little surprise to us in the fact that we didn't stand a chance of doing the two to three pits that we were planning on!
We probed the yard first and located two privies and possibly a third. The first one was a pretty easy locate considering that there was a sunken spot beside of a shed out back that was about a foot deep already. This is where we started and strangely enough where we ended eight hours later!
